Troubleshooting & Feedback

The app won’t open (“unidentified developer”)

The build is notarized, so this is rare. If it happens, right-click the app → Open once, then Open in the dialog. You only need to do this once.

It says I need to activate after updating

Occasionally a security update to the licensing system asks you to re-activate once. Just Restore Purchase… (or resume your trial) from Settings → License — your files and settings are untouched.

An image or LUT went missing after I moved it

Images and LUTs are tracked by macOS bookmarks, so moving or renaming a file on the same volume is fine — it’s re-found automatically. If a file moved to a different volume, or the original is gone, re-import it (per-image grades re-attach by content).

A LUT looks different in the film strip vs. the big preview

The film strip and the hero use the same render path, so they should match. If they don’t, note the LUT and image and send them along — that’s a bug worth reporting.

RAW files won’t open

Make sure you’re on the latest build. RAW is developed through the RAW Decode stage in the Inspector; very new camera models occasionally need an updated decoder.

Editing feels slow

Grades are cached, but the first decode of a large RAW or a deep zoom can take a moment. If a specific image is consistently sluggish, tell us its size/format.

Nothing in the film strip

You haven’t imported any LUTs yet — File → Import LUTs… (⇧⌘I) or drag .cube files in.

Reporting a bug / sending feedback

The quickest way to reach us is Help → Send Feedback… in the app — it sends your message (and build version) straight to us. Help → User Guide opens these docs.

When something’s off, the most useful report includes:

  1. What you did (the exact clicks).
  2. What you expected vs. what happened.
  3. The build version (LUT Gallery → About).
  4. The LUT and/or image involved, if relevant.
  5. A screenshot.

Thanks for testing — focused, reproducible reports make the app better fast.
